Words In The Kitchen
Album: Poets And StorytellersText
Words in the kitchen in the back of your mind, somebody you can call. Tears in the water as you're filling your cup, kids coming down the hall. And every person that you see becomes a shining star when they ask how you are. Hands in the chemicals coming up dust the sound of a pickup truck. You feel like the goal in the back of his soul is only to trip you up. And when you think that you could've had a life, it's not so hard. You forget who you are. It's been a long day in a long line, in the wrong way, in the wrong life. Weeks on a job and a call that you know never really said that much. The ghost of a lover creeping into your dreams, somebody you can't touch. And pictures from your life unfold like stories that you know. You connect, and you let go. It's been a long day in a long line, in the wrong way in the wrong life.
