Out to sea, the seafarer's lament heralds a suspenseful omen. Tremolo strings and a Celtic flute blow by in the salty breeze. Woody percussion and drums build and stop suddenly, releasing you into the open sea of airy synths and textures. The sirens are calling. You will become part of their wicked tale.
A modern take on ancient ballads, this track starts with a folksy yet dark male vocal over etherial textures and piano. Breathy yet percussive vocalizations and deep sub bass conjure images of ancient druids at work. Detuned airy pads and distorted synths build on tension as pounding drums punctuate the lead vocal hook. An epic battle cry for a war that wages on.
Like a slow-motion montage of preparing for war, you can almost see the forging of steel and the donning of chainmail in this warrior track. A foreboding male vocal over suspenseful textures and bootlike steps, until flurries of mad percussion interject. The vocals ascend into a catchy 6/8 hook, while massive drums and synthy percussion build to climax on the battlefield.
It's instant suspense with this track-- a lone vocal over nefarious pitch bending textures, sonar pings, and an ancient drone pitch. The falsetto section at 1:08 is truly haunting, soaring delicately over unsettling textures and thin piano as everything seems to vibrate together until releasing into a powerful tutti section of orchestra, synths, and raging drums.
